Mortimer is a robot I made for my PhD at QMUL. As an introduction, here is a film the Royal Institute made about him:

Mortimer plays the drums in response to human piano playing and was developed to research the effect of open ended creative activity on long term Human-Robot Social relationships. There are 3 papers and a whole thesis about our work and results in the Publications section.

He made star turns in stand up comedy with Festival of the Spoken Nerd, at the British Science Festival, on the BBC’s Christmas Lectures and on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show. He know lives with a robot orchestra in Manchester
